Golden Hive's Story

Honey

Specials!!!

Golden Hive is a brand founded by Daniel Bridger registered beekeeper TA766 who started keeping bees as a teenager in 2004. Through the years he has developed a wealth of knowledge and experience in beekeeping and the honey industry.

‘’I started Golden Hive in 2018 with the vision to start a brand people can trust. There is so much adulterated honey on the market and I constantly find people asking is this REAL honey?”

We strive for the highest of standards to ensure the finest quality honey and bee products according to Local and international standards.

In addition to our own honey production Golden Hive works closely with many other beekeepers sourcing honey and helping empower them to expand their operations.

We routinely send honey samples abroad for testing on an international level to ensure all our honey is pure and free from any adulteration. Unfortunately South Africa does not have the testing equipment needed for full honey analysis

South Africa’s honey production has dropped significantly through the years leading to now about 70% of the honey on the market being a variety of imported honey as well as a large percentage being adulterated and thinned with other ingredients.

Understanding the difficulties facing the beekeeping industry and the cheap imported honey, we are striving to get South Africa back in a position to produce a surplus of honey for the existing market with the potential to once again be able to export our fine produce as was the case a good number of years ago. We believe it all starts with educating the public that our honey is worth the extra penny.
